Christmas Celebration

"Hanging of the Greens" Christmas Celebration!
THIS Sunday, December 6th, 2009 11:00 am at CFAC

Bring your family to celebrate this Christmas season with Christmas carols, special music by our children, and an extended communion! We will be decorating our Christmas tree with ornaments and reading scripture portions that remind us of Jesus' birth and sacrifice. Stay and fellowship after the service at our "Sweet N Salty" snack buffet.

Youth Video

This is a video I took and edited of a game we played in youth. The rules are the player must have a heavy straight object placed on his chin and look completely up while spinning around for twenty-five spins. Then the player should discard the pole and attempt to do three jumping jacks.

Team Hot Mamas morphed into Team Nerdfighters when Jaimie joined them!
Why is that...I wonder?

Friday, November 13, 2009

The holidays are rapidly approaching, as are are CFAC holiday celebrations! Please mark your calendars and join us for any of the special events listed below!

Kid's Sunday School Movie Party!
Sunday, November 22nd @ 9:45 am
The kids have been doing a terrific job participating in Sunday School and working on their friendship "challenges" each week so it's time to celebrate! Join us in the sanctuary for a showing of "Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella" during our normal Sunday school time. Tweens and teens are also welcome to attend! Our Adult Sunday School will also be offered at this time.

Warriors of the Faith Skill Training
The Tweens and Teens are being challenged to memorize scripture each week! They will be rewarded according to the number of verses they memorize. If you are interested in taking part in this challenge, please email Alicia Zander at
aliciaz2004@hotmail.com.

Thanksgiving Plans
This year as you are making your family's Thanksgiving dinner plans, everyone is encouraged to invite others to your family celebration! Look for people in our church or community who may not be able to travel to be with their own families this year and "adopt" them into your family. "Galatians 6:10 - "So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."

Christmas Decorating - to be determined
If you are interested in helping decorate the church with festive Christmas decor, please let Alicia or Daniel know when you're available. Decorating will start after Thanksgiving. Men, women, and kids are encouraged to get involved! There are lots of seasonal "jobs" for everyone, plus there are always minor maintenance and cleaning projects around the church that we are looking for willing volunteers to tackle.

Hanging of the Greens Christmas Celebration!
Sunday, December 6th at 11:00 am
Take part our first "Hanging of the Greens" Christmas celebration! (No, we're not talking about "collard greens"! =) This will be a special service to start off our Christmas season with celebration in song, scripture reading, decorating with reminders of Jesus' birth, and a Christmas Communion. We hope that many families will be involved in the service so invite your friends and family!

Dress Rehearsal for kids involved - Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 am. Praise and Worship Team practice will probably start at 9:00 am.

Sunday, December 27th - Church Christmas Lunch!
Enjoy a potluck dinner with your church family after the morning service! Great way to use up those Christmas leftovers. =) Carol Conn's daughter, Claudia Irvin, will be here with her husband Steve and some of their children. The Irvins attended CFAC when they lived here during their missionary furloughs so this will be an fun opportunity to spend time with them. Steve Irvin is currently the lead Pastor at the Toronto Alliance church.
